The Nielsen Online Retail Report shows that Kiwis have embraced internet shopping in a big way. Over 1.9 million New Zealanders now shop online. That’s 56% of the population, and it’s growing at a rapid rate; year on year 100,000 more Kiwis now shop online.

Not only are more Kiwis shopping online, they’re also buying more often. What are they buying? Anything from airline tickets, clothing, shoes and accessories, to books, magazines and entertainment tickets.

Check load times and checkout speeds, aiming to get them as low as possible to ensure a smooth shopping experience from purchase to checkout. Most importantly, ensure your website is ready to handle the surge of web traffic that the holiday season may bring.

Update your details

Update any relevant holiday information like business hours, holiday delivery info and shipping deadlines. If you provide after hours sales service, ensure those contact details are clearly listed.

It’s not too late to get your holiday special offers up on your ecommerce website. Your shoppers are likely looking for the best deal, so make sure your holiday special offers are prominent and easy to find on your website. And show your holiday spirit with customised seasonal advertising messages.
